19 MLGUs to participate Sandugo Agri-Fair 2025
Some 19 Municipal Local Government Units (MLGUs) have manifested their interests as exhibitors to display
and sell their agricultural products during the Sandugo Agri-Fair 2025 slated on July 14-18, 2025 to be held at the
Plaza Rizal in front of the St. Joseph Cathedral in the heart of Tagbilaran City.
Gertrudes Fuentes, Chief-Crops and Productivity Division-Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA) said that
during the Coordination Meeting with MLGUs and Partner Agencies for Sandugo Agri-Fair 2025 last Thursday held
at the Panda Tea Suites, Purok 4, Dao, Tagbilaran City, the Municipal Agriculturists/Municipal Agricultural Officers
(MAs/MAOs) from the towns of Alburquerque, Antequera, Calape, Loon, Maribojoc, Talibon, Ubay, Batuan,
Carmen, Lila, Loboc, Sikatuna, San Miguel, Sierra-Bullones, Valencia, Panglao, Tagbilaran, Duero, and Sagbayan
confirmed their participation.
Fuentes said that last year there were 26 MLGUs participated of the fair held at the Bantawan inside at the Old
Tagbilaran City Airport.
Provincial Agriculturist Liza M. Quirog is hopeful that there will be other MLGUs to join the fair as the
MAs/MAOs from the usual MLGU exhibitors of the festivity stressed that they are waiting the decision of their
newly-elected mayors of their respective municipalities regarding their participation in the annual activity of the
Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh) through the OPA.
Bringing the theme in this year’s activity, “Agrikultura sa Kasingkasing, Kinaiya, Kalamboan, ug Kahiusahan”,
the Sandugo Agri-Fair is one of the activities to highlight the month-long celebration of the Sandugo Festival in
every month of July of the year.
The five-day affair will also be highlighted with different contests with prizes at stake such as: Motorcade,
Pinaka, Bangus Deboning, Tilapia Cleaning and Filleting, Most Promising Tilapia Processed Product, Most
Promising Seaweeds Processed Product, Love Duet Singing, Vocal Solo Singing, and Stand-up Comedian Contests.
This would be the fourth Sandugo Agri-Fair under the administration of Governor Erico Aristotle C. Aumentado
since he was elected as governor in the province of Bohol on 2022.
Governor Aumentado disclosed that in his second term as father of 1.4 million Boholanos, he gives his priority
to agriculture which has been proven its sustainability even during the COVID-19 Pandemic compared to tourism
and business endeavors that were collapsed in that time.
To include in his strengthened program in agriculture is to utilize the idle farmlands, rehabilitation of fish ponds
to boost productions and income among Boholano farmers and fisherfolks aside from giving more interventions to
