PGBH TO ENCOURAGE MAOS ESTABLISH ONLINE PLATFORMS

The Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh) through the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA) will
encourage all the Municipal Agriculture Offices in Bohol to establish and utilize online meeting platforms such as
Zoom, Google Meet, or other similar applications for official meetings, consultations, and coordination activities.

Provincial Agriculturist Liza M. Quirog, in her letter to the Municipal Agriculturists/Municipal Agricultural
Officers (MAs/MAOs) through the municipal mayors, said that the use of virtual meeting platforms will help ensure
the continuous and efficient conduct of meetings while promoting prudent management of government resources.

Quirog added, this approach will significantly reduce expenses associated with transportation, accommodation,
and food during face-to-face meetings, while still allowing timely communication and collaboration among offices.

The provincial agriculturist emphasized that at a time when the government is implementing measures to reduce
energy consumption, it is a feasible plan that all MAs/MAOs to facilitate the necessary arrangements within their
respective offices to set up and maintain an appropriate online meeting platform.

Quirog expressed optimism about the initiative’s impact on agriculture, especially amid the rising prices of
petroleum products, while ensuring that essential public services remain uninterrupted.

Government offices have adopted a four-day workweek as part of the measures to conserve energy, even as
country’s supply of petroleum products remains stable. By Atoy Cosap
