ORGANIC AGRICULTURE 2022
In 2022, organic inputs were distributed to farmer beneficiaries and 3 trainings on organic farming were conducted. The trainings were JADAM Technology training in October 8, 2022 in Lasang Farm, Tinibgan, Marinojoc, the Organic Agriculture Training last October 11, 2022 at JJs Seafoods Village, Tagbilaran and Organic Production Technology Trainings last November 22-23, 2022 at Poblacion, Dagohoy.
The Organic farming areas in Bohol reached 1,807.1 hectares based on LGU reports submitted to OPA in 2022. This comprises the 17 Organic Farming municipalities, Kapunongan sa Bol-anong Organikong Mag-uuma sa Bohol (KBOOM) and other assisted People’s Organization.
In terms of the production of organically grown products, 87,777 kilograms of organic rice have been harvested, 77,949 kilograms of assorted organic fruits and 754,979 kilograms of organically grown vegetables were harvested in 2022.
In November 16-18, 2022, the first ever Organic Agriculture Festival was conducted at the Bohol Cultural Center, Tagbilaran City participated by 28 Exhibitors offering organically grown products and obtained a total of 302,061.00 pesos sales for the participating exhibitors. Moreover, the 6th Regional Organic Agriculture Congress was conducted last October 26, 2022 at Reyna’s Haven and Gardens, Tagbilaran City.
