AGRICULTURAL ENGINEERING

ENGINEERING AND MACHINERY SUPPORT SERVICES

Total rental collection of machinery services under OPA reached 412,000.00 pesos in total comprising 190.23 hectares totaling to 274.71-man hours of machinery servicing.  Water drilling at BOATech Center, Gabi, Ubay is on-going and aims to complete in the first quarter of 2023. It aims to provide a sustainable and reliable source of water for the facility and ensure production activities in the area which requires water to achieve. In terms of locating potential water sources, about 8 geo-resistivity water detection activities were conducted in year 2022.

 

 

Around 342 various farm equipment for rice production was procured amounting to 8,800,000, 181 machineries and equipment for cacao production amounting to 3 million and another 48 machineries for corn and cassava production procured and dispersed to farmer beneficiaries amounting to 61,200,000. Small farm reservoirs (SFRs) totaling 40 units were established amounting to 2 million pesos. In addition, 3 Rice mill shed house were established with an allocation of 2.8 million pesos.

BOHOL SOIL AND WATER LABORATORY

The construction of the Provincial Soil and Water Laboratory have started within the Bohol Island State University Bilar Campus. In February 2022, a ceremonial turn-over was made for the grant of equipment necessary to the operation of the soon to operate soil and water laboratory. Lobbying to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan through Board Member Lucille Lagunay for the hiring of a chemist was done last August 2022.

A total of P19,720,800.00 worth of equipment, consumables, laboratory chemicals and laboratory supplies was granted by the Bureau of Soils and Water Management (BSWM) for the laboratories’ eventual operationalization.
