Sandugo Agri-Fair 2019 set July 23-27, 2019

The Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh) through the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA) has scheduled the one-week long celebration of the 2019 SandugoAgri-Fair, July 23-27, 2019 at the City Hall and Bohol Agricultural Promotion Center (BAPC) Grounds, Dao, Tagbilaran City.
Assistant Provincial Agriculturist Larry M. Pamugas said the fair will be highlighted with contests such as best booth, pinaka Cacao pods, Imelda Papin voice alike, RenzVerano voice alike, bahalina drinking (male and female), chili eating, rice pounding and winnowing, coconut dehusking and grating, Bangus deboning, Tilapia cleaning and filleting.
The fair will kickoff with a motorcade at 8 a.m. on July 23, 2019 starting from the New Bohol Capitol Building, New Capitol Site, Cogon, Tagbilaran City to Bohol Wisdom School, CPG Avenue-Tamblot Street-Calceta Street-J.A. Clarin down to the venue. The opening program will follow with Gov. Arthur C. Yap leadingin delivering messages.
After the program, exhibits will formally open. Conduct of best booth, pinaka Cacao pods and Imelda Papin voice alike contests will follow.
On the second day of the affair, the Organic Agriculture Day/ Agribusiness Day and the RenzVerano voice alike, bahalina drinking and chili eating contests will be conducted.
The Crops and Livestock Day and the rice pounding and winnowing, coconut dehusking and grating contests will be done on the third day; while the Fisheries Day and the judging of the Bangus deboning, and Tilapia cleaning and filleting will be conducted on the fourth day.
The exhibitors are given two days to put up and beautify their booths and the display of farm machinery at the City Hall and BAPC Grounds on June 21 and 22, 2019 while the egress will be on July 27-28, 2019.
Pamugas emphasized that the contestant must come from the Local Government Unit (LGU) with booth and product display at the venue of the fair.
He said that the working committees are already inplace to do the ground works for the success of the affair to wit: invitation, program, exhibits, physical arrangement, decoration and aftercare, secretariat, food, awards and prizes, documentation and agri-info exhibits, finance, and contests committees.
This year’s SandugoAgri-Fair would be the first activity that will happen in the administration of Governor Yap which is an annual affair that happens every month of July of each year as spearheaded by the PGBh through the OPA in coordination with the LGU, Department of Agriculture (DA) and other line agencies, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), academe, non-government organizations, business sector and civil society geared towards the enhancement of the agribusiness climate and the promotion of agri-tourism in the province.
