Sandugo Agri-Fair 2023 sets
The Sandugo Agri-Fair 2023 in the province of Bohol is slated on July 17 – 19, 2023 at the Old City Airport,
Cogon, Tagbilaran City.
The agri-fair is one of the activities of the Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh) to highlight the month-long
celebration of the Sandugo Festival on the month of July every year.
The three-day fair is an annual activity that aims to recognize and award the efforts of the agri-fishery sectors
that have been helping the provincial government in achieving its mandate for food sufficiency and security in
Bohol.
To date, the PGBh through the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA) is now in thick preparation to ensure
that the celebration would be successful.
The division chiefs and section heads of the OPA led by Provincial Agriculturist Liza M. Quirog and Engr. Ric
Oblena, Executive Assistant for Agriculture during their preparatory meeting last Tuesday at the OPA Conference
Room, 3 rd Floor, New Capitol Building, this city, they created the different working committees to do the ground
work to wit: program; invitation; exhibition and product display; physical arrangement, decoration, sound system
and aftercare;
Secretariat and accommodation; food; finance, awards and prizes; Documentation, publicity and promotion; agri
stakeholders’ night; pinaka; mag-uumang talentado; bangus deboning; motorcade; and experiential booth
committees.
Adding excitement to make the whole activities more festive, there will be different contests to be participated in
by farmers and fisherfolks coming from the municipalities who have product display at the Old City Airport with
prizes at stake such as exhibits and product displays, pinaka, mag-uumang talentado (young-35 years old below and
adults – 36 y. o up categories), bangus deboning, and motorcade.
Also during that meeting, they suggested several themes for the fair focus on the mitigating measures of the
provincial government to lessen the impact of climate change on agriculture to be presented and approved one of
these during the scheduled second preparatory meeting with Municipal Agriculturists/Municipal Agricultural
Officers (MAs/MAOs) on June 18, 2023, at Panda Tea Garden Suite, Dao, Tagbilaran City.
This will be the second Sandugo Agri – Fair in the administration of Gov. Erico Aristotle C. Aumentado after he
assumed office as governor in the province of Bohol last year.
It has not been known yet who will be the guest speaker on that occasion as last year it was Atty. Siadamen
Dimaporo who represented President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.
It is expected that more Municipal Local Government Units (MLGUs)in the different municipalities in the
province will participate in the fair compared to last year which had 22 MLGUs participated. By Atoy Cosap
