Capitol accepts SUHID nominees

The Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh) through the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA) is now accepting nominees for the SUHID sa Malampusong Mag-uumang Bol-anon Search 2017.

Assistant Provincial Agriculturist Larry M. Pamugas has urged all Municipal Agriculturists (MAs)/Municipal Agricultural Officers (MAOs) in all municipalities and city of the Province of Bohol to submit their nominations to the provincial search.
Pamugas said the MAOs and MAs can now submit nominations by categories to the SUHID Search.
Categories include: coconut farmer, small animal raiser, large animal raiser, rice farmer (adopting integrated farming), corn farmer (adopting integrated farming), organic agriculture practitioner farmer, fisher folk (fresh water fish ponds), fisher folk association, farm family, municipal agriculture and fishery council (MAFC), farmers’ association, rural improvement club (RIC), most outstanding rice-duck farmer, municipal agriculturist/agricultural officer,
Rice technician, corn technician, High Value Crop Development Program (HVCDP) technician, livestock technician, fishery technician, high value commercial crop farmer (vegetable), most outstanding Japonica Rice farmer, outstanding hybrid rice farmer, outstanding organic agriculture farmer group, and outstanding organic focal person (LGU category).

The individual farmer and agri-fishery groups who received their awards during the Regional Gawad Saka Awarding ceremony held in Bay Front Hotel, Cebu City on Oct. 20, 2016 were Junric Ando of Sagbayan as Small Animal Raiser; Jose Polinar of Batuan (as Rice Farmer); Rosita Quipit of Carmen (as Corn Farmer); Mandaug Palayamanan Farmers Partners Association of Calape (Farmers Association); Alex Mandin and Family of Loboc (Farm Family); Bernadino Roluma of Calape (High Value Crop Development Program Farmer); Manuel Kuan of Getafe (Fish Culture category); Municipal Agri-Fishery Council (MAFC) San Miguel of San Miguel (MAFC category);
Kapunungan sa Bol-anong Organikong Mag-uuma (KaBoOM) of Dimiao (Organic Small Farmers Group category); Francisco Manigo of Tubigon (Individual Organic Farmer category); and Mario Silagan of Tubigon (Organic Agri-Extension Worker).
Two farmers from Garcia Hernandez, Bohol also received awards as best farmers who showed high performance in farming even during the El Niño Phenomenon that hit the province.
The SUHID Sa Malampusong Mag-uumang Bol-anon is a yearly activity since then governor and now First District Congressman Rene L. Relampagos that aims to give recognition to the individual farmers and agri-fishery groups as exemplary in the field of agriculture of which Gov. Edgar M.
