Sandugo Agri-Fair 2018 highlights float contest

The float parade contest with prizes at stake will make the opening of the Sandugo Agri-Fair 2018. The unique and a more colorful celebration runs July 17 to 20,2018. The contest will start at 12:30 noon from the jump off area at J.A. Clarin St., Purok 4, Dao, Tagbilaran City in front of the Provincial Health Office (PHO) and Camp Bernido.

Eleno L. Evangelista, agri-fair focal person said that as of now there are three options given as to the route of the float parade contest which will be decided by the Technical Working Group of the fair.

Evangelista explained that the opening of the coming Sandugo Agri-Fair is different with the past celebrations  which were usually kicked-off with the motorcade.

The float parade contest will end at the ICM after passing the exhibit area at the Bohol Agricultural Promotion Center (B-APC), Tagbilaran City for the opening program.

Governor Edgar M. Chatto will lead guests and participants  during the program and the ribbon cutting at the B-APC after the program.

Other contests lined-up are mu crab catch and tie, bahal drinking, pinaka, and oyster shackling.

Expected towns to participate are Tagbilaran City, Baclayon, Dauis, Panglao, Alburquerque, Lila, Dimiao, Valencia, Jagna, Duero, Corella, Sikatuna, Balilihan, Cortes, Maribojoc, Antequera, Calape, Talibon, Ubay, Alicia, Pilar, Carmen, Sierra-Bullones and Sagbayan.

Assistant Provincial Agriculturist Larry M. Pamugas bared that they have already created the different committees to do the ground working.

He said the Sandugo Agri-Fair is an annual affair that happens every July of each year spearheaded by the Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh) through the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA) in coordination with the Municipal Local government units (MLGUs), Department of Agriculture and other line agencies, the Academe, the Non-Government Organizations, the business sector and the civil society geared towards the enhancement  of the agribusiness climate and the promotion of agri-tourism in the province.

Beaming the theme “Produktong Bol-anon Palamboon;Maluntarong Pagpanguma ug Pagpangisda Padayunon, Kabatan-onan Angay Madasigon”, the Sandugo Agri-Fair is one of the activities to highlight the month long celebration of the Sandugo Festival. (Atoy Cosap)
