SUHID evaluation starts

The evaluating teams will start this week evaluation on nominees for the different categories of Suhidsa Malampusong Mag-uumang Bol-anon provincial search in Bohol.
There are 112 nominees to vie for the 29 SUHID categories namely: Outstanding Fisherman, Outstanding Fisherfolks (Fresh Water Fish Ponds), Outstanding Fisherfolks Association, Outstanding Fishery Technician, Outstanding Farmer (Fish Culture), Outstanding Rice Farmer, Outstanding Hybrid Rice, Outstanding Rice Technician, Outstanding Organic Agriculture Farmer Group, Outstanding Organic Agriculture Practitioner Farmer,
Outstanding Rural Improvement Club, Outstanding Rural Women, Outstanding Agri-Enterprise for Crops, Outstanding Agri-Enterprise for Fishery, Outstanding Large Animal Raiser, Outstanding Small Animal Raiser, Outstanding Livestock Technician, Outstanding Corn Farmer, Outstanding Banana Farmer, Outstanding Corn Technician, Outstanding HVCDP Crop Farmer (vegetable), Outstanding HVCDP Technician,
And the Outstanding FarmersAssociation, Outstanding Young Farmer, Outstanding 4-H club, Outstanding Farm Family, Outstanding Municipal Agricultural and Fishery Council and Outstanding Municipal Agricultural Officer/Municipal Agriculturist.
The evaluating teams are composed of personnel from agriculture-related provincial and national government agencies namely: Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA), Office of the Provincial Veterinarian (OPV), Provincial Agricultural Technology Coordinating Office /Bohol Agricultural Promotion Center (PATCO/BAPC), Agricultural Training Institute (ATI), National Irrigation Administration (NIA), Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), and the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR).
Assistant Provincial Agriculturist Larry M. Pamugas has high hopes that the evaluations would be completed within this year so that the winners would be recognized and awarded during the culmination program of the Ubi Festival to be conducted on the third week of January 2020 at the CPG Park, New Capitol Site, Cogon, Tagbilaran City.
Winners of SUHID automatically become Bohol’s nominees to the Regional GawadSaka Search sponsored by the Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Office (DA-RFO) 7 next year.
This year’s Regional GawadSaka Search nominees from Bohol bested other nominees from Cebu, Siquijor and Negros Oriental bagging 18 out of 30 categories. (Atoy Cosap)
