Capitol services anew, carabao dispersal via Purok Power drive

Barangay Biabas in Ubay town is added in the long list of barangays in Bohol receiving carabaos and other farm and household items from the Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh) through the Countryside Development Program Purok Power Movement (CDP-PPM).
Punong Barangay (PB) Carlito M. Boiser led the barangay officials and the seven beneficiaries to receive seven carabaos during the CDP-PPM handover and induction of Purok Sectoral Working Committees last Tuesday held at the covered court of barangay Biabas.
Each of the seven puroks received one carabao during the dispersal.
Other items given were toilet bowls (50 pieces), plastic tables (4 pcs.), plastic chairs (15 pcs), bolos (100 pcs.), fruit tree seedlings (60), corn seeds (300 packs), Information Education and Communications (IEC) materials (200), and animal dewormer from the PGBh through the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA) and Office of the Provincial Veterinarian.
Medicines were given for free while Medical check-up was made available for free by the Medical Outreach Unit (MOU) from the Office of Governor Edgar M. Chatto and the Municipal Health Office of Ubay. While the massage, circumcision and haircut services were provided by the members of the 302nd Infantry (Achiever) Brigade and 47th Infantry Battalion and the free eye examination by the Idea Philippines.
PB Boiser thanked the PGBh and vowed full support to Gov. Chatto’s administration.
Ariel Lungay, Gov. Chatto’s representative said the dreams of barangay Biabas was realized last Thursday.
Lungay clarified that such services, a program not found in other provinces, are carried out by the PGBh to fully address the needs of constituents considering the limited resources of barangay coffers.
Lt. Col. Arnel Cabugon of the 302nd Infantry (Achiever) Brigade emphasized that their presence in Bohol is to protect the peace and order that have been experienced in the province.
Cabugon further said that Bohol’s development now is the product of a peaceful community, thus each one of us has the responsibility to protect peace.
He also pointed out that their forces are always ready to help or support programs and initiatives of the PGBh towards peace and development.
SPO2 Rogelio Baluran of Ubay Police Station lauded barangay Biabas for its sustained drug-free status and urged barangay officials to maintain it.
Tomorrow and on Friday the same activities will be carried out at Mabuhay Cabiguhan, Trinidad and La Esperanza, Dagohoy towns, respectively. (Atoy Cosap)
