Boholano agri workers shine in regional achievers awards 2018
The Boholano agricultural extension workers, technicians and farmers topped the recently concluded “Outstanding Agricultural Achievers Awards 2018” after bagging the 11 out of 26 categories of the search.
Awarding ceremonies were held Monday at the Bayfront Hotel, Cebu City.
Tha Outstanding Agricultural achievers Awards is a yearly search sponsored by the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office (DA-RFO) 7 to give awards and recognition to those who are adjudged as Regional Outstanding Gawad Saka, Regional Rice Achievers, Regional Outstanding Organic Agriculture Achievers, Regional Outstanding PAIC awardeees who have excelled in the different fields in agriculture.
The Boholano awardees were Maricel C. Barloso from the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA) Outstanding Organic Agricultural Extension Worker; Terencio R. Paloma (San Miguel) Regional Outstanding Gawad Saka Rice Farmer; Marilou M. Escalona (Dauis) Regional Outstanding Gawad Saka Organic Farmer; Zosimo L. Pracullos (San Miguel) Regional Outstanding Gawad Saka Coconut Farmer;
Jerome LeeOmamalia (Carmen) Outstanding Organic Youth Farmer; Marcela P. Palma (San Miguel), Eulalia C. Mutia (Bilar), and Elizabeth M. Cortez (Calape) Outstanding Agricultural Extension Worker (AEW); Leonides S. Balo (Guindulman) Outstanding Local Farmer Technician (LFT); Municipality of San Miguel, Bohol Outstanding Rice Achiever Municipality; Johnny M. Samson (Office of the Provincial Veterinarian) Outstanding Provincial Artificial Insemination Coordinator and Pedro A. Lopez (Sagbayan) as Outstanding Artificial Insemination Technician.
The winners received cash and plaque of recognition.
Four Boholano agricultural technicians who also received cash and recognition were Ananias C. Nuez (San Miguel) Assisting Technician, Outstanding Rice Farmer; Mary Jane G. Aranjuez (Dauis) Assisting Technician, Outstanding Organic Farmer; Fortunata T. Palma (San Miguel) Assisting Technician, Oustanding Large Animal Raiser and Dario A. Romero (Alicia) Assisting Technician, Outstanding Coconut Farmer.
Helen Q. Igot from the OPA was given the plaque of recognition during the awarding ceremony as the Provincial Gawad Saka Coordinator in Bohol.
The province of Bohol is consistent of being always on top of this DA-ROF 7 sponsored tilt bested the provinces of Cebu, Siquijor, and Negros Oriental in Region 7.
